This Halloween, we had 31 trick-or-treaters, which was up from last year but still nowhere near historical highs. But it was a Sunday, and that's always weird. What a weird year for trick or treating! We prepacked ziplock bags with one comic book, one (full-size) candy bar, and one other trinket, and then placed them on a card table outside our door for kids to take (and even quickly browse to pick their favorite comic or candy). The number of trick-or-treaters was up this year, to 49! A good recovery from last year. They were all early; we didn't have any after 7:45 PM. I'm pretty sure that's because it was cold, and getting colder. Everyone was racing the cold weather...

This year, we had a disappointing 27 trick-or-treaters, which is the least since I started keeping track in 2008. I don't know why, as it wasn't that cold and history suggested that weekdays give us more little monsters than weekends. This year, we has 65 trick-or-treaters (0r maybe 63, as I may have miscounted), which was a record for us (either way)! We now have visitors who remember us for giving away full-size candy bars and comic books, so that's nice...

We had 49 ghoulish little visitors this Halloween, back on the high side and showing that we get more trick-or-treaters when Halloween is on a weeknight than on a weekend, which seems counter-intuitive...

This year, the trick-or-treater count was way down from last year, only 37. Not the lowest we had since we started keeping records, but still a disappointment. I wonder if Halloween on Saturday gave kids many more things to do during the day so the didn't have to trick-or-treat at night?

Once again, I didn't wear a costume for Halloween. I now work at home, so there was no Halloween party. And I took the day off anyway!

The trick-or-treater count this year was 54, just one down from last year. And we had fewer teens at the end of the night (I suppose they have better things to do on Friday), so the number of kids was up. Costumes ( Read more... )
